Walmer is an adjoining town, closely associated with Deal and located just along the coast. Walmer’s pebble beach is essentially a continuation of Deal’s beach and whilst Deal’s beach restricts access to dogs during the summer months, Walmer welcomes dogs on its beach all year round.
Walmer is a historic coastal village in Kent, closely linked to the Cinque Ports and centuries of maritime defence. Once a strategic military stronghold, it became home to the Duke of Wellington at Walmer Castle & Gardens and remains rich in Tudor heritage, coastal history and traditional English seaside charm.
