Relax at Samphire Hoe
Samphire Hoe was created from 4.9 million cubic metres of chalk marl dug to create the Channel Tunnel. The site is owned by Eurotunnel and managed in partnership with the White Cliffs Countryside Partnership. Dover Museum is situated in the Market Square in the centre of Dover. Dover Museum is one of the oldest museums in Kent, originally founded in 1836. In 1991 the museum was rehoused in a brand new three-storey building, situated behind its original Victorian facade.

The network of tunnels within the white cliffs beneath Dover Castle served as a barracks for soldiers during the Napoleonic Wars, became a headquarters and hospital during the Second World War, and were equipped to serve as a Regional Seat of Government in the 1960s in the event of nuclear war.
