Margate

Grosvenor Place is set in Margate, one of Kent’s most exciting seaside towns, where classic coastal charm meets a thriving creative scene. The sweeping sands of Margate Main Sands are close by, offering golden beaches, big skies and the timeless pleasure of the seaside. The town’s walkable layout makes it easy to explore on foot, from the shoreline to the lively streets just behind the seafront.

Margate’s cultural pull is a real highlight, with the Turner Contemporary gallery anchoring a vibrant arts scene inspired by the town’s long association with J.M.W. Turner. The Old Town is a joy to wander, filled with vintage shops, independent boutiques, stylish restaurants and cosy cafés set among Georgian streets. Dreamland adds a playful note with its restored rides, music events and retro atmosphere, while the harbour arm offers wonderful views out to sea.

For days further afield, nearby beaches such as Botany Bay and the neighbouring towns of Broadstairs and Ramsgate provide easy coastal variety. Margate railway station offers direct services to London, making Grosvenor Place a superb base for short breaks or longer stays enjoying Margate’s unique blend of beach life, culture and creativity.
