Bowden Lodge is a fabulous converted flint stone barn, nestled in expansive gardens and grounds. While the house has retained much of its rustic charm- with exposed brickwork and wooden beams, it has also gained a few modern touches with the addition of large TVs, luxurious bathrooms, a games room and an outdoor swimming pool, available in the summer months. Sleeping up to 12 guests in 6 bedrooms, there is plenty of room for the whole family or a large group of friends. There will be no waiting for the shower in the morning, as most of the bedrooms have en suites, and a family bathroom is also on hand with a large bath and walk in power shower. Situated in the pretty village of Kingsdown, the house is just a short walk away from the beach, where you’ll find views of the White Cliffs, beach huts and seafood at the local pub. Stroll along the coastal path to Deal, for boutique shops, markets and restaurants. The golf club is on your doorstep too for keen golfers.

A wonderful large garden with a secluded swimming pool (open 1st June - 31st August), triple open cart bay garage, stable block and two stables. Weber Gas BBQ available upon request for an additional cost. For the swimming pool opening times, please see the finer details below.

Bed linen and towels are provided.
Infant friendly- there is 1 travel cot and 1 highchair available on request (please bring your own linen for the travel cot, as these are not provided)
Dog friendly - up to 2 well behaved dogs are welcome for an additional charge of £25 per dog. Please refer to your signed terms and conditions for our pet rules.
This property has a sloping tarmac driveway with parking for up to 4 vehicles.
Wood-burner is located in formal reception room – guests to supply own logs.
Terrace area with table, chairs, parasol and large gas BBQ (available in the summer months).
A supply of gas will be provided, please call us if you need this replenished.
Outside swimming pool - Please kindly note that the pool closes August 31st and re-opens June 1st. The opening of the pool is very weather dependant, and please feel free to get in touch with our team if you have any questions about the opening times of the swimming pool.
Please note there are neighbours close by so we ask that you respect their privacy, peace and quiet.
Disabled access is limited. Wheelchair access is via the sliding doors to the sitting room. The downstairs bedroom/bathroom and games room can be accessed via wheelchair but the house has not been specifically set up for this. Please note that the rest of the house is not wheelchair accessible. There are steps from the sitting room into the dining room/kitchen area.
Welcome pack is provided.
Please be aware that parties/events are not permitted at this property - there are neighbours very close by so no loud music is permitted at any time.

We would respectfully ask that the following house rules are adhered to, to avoid any damages to our beautiful holiday home. Should any damages arise please note charges may be taken from your security deposit.
Smoking is not permitted in the property at any time.
Please note for insurance purposes the number of guests must not exceed the total occupancy of the house.
For fire safety reasons please do not use any candles in the property.
Please note quiet hours are between 11pm and 9am. Please be respectful to neighbours.
Parties and loud music are not permitted.
Guests must not use Blu Tack and or Selotape on any of the walls to hang decorations/banners.

Very easy booking online, with all relevant info being made readily available

Bowden Lodge is a great property for a group booking. It was rather tricky to find with the instructions provided, it might be a good idea to provide additionally what3words location finder. The beds were comfortable and the living space is exceptional. The aga was not on / working but there is a second kitchen that you can cook in, it's just less social cooking. The property could also benefit from more shoe space / coat rails. A boot room would be ideal. Was great to have a games room and the kids could be desperate from the adults. We enjoyed games time all together though,a lot of fun. Finally the 2 of the showers had errors on the electric shower function. Instructions on how to use and fix the showers would be beneficial. Overall a super lovely stay and we worked around any faults mentioned above. It didn't prevent us having fun!

Amazing house in a lovely location, only a few minutes walk from the beach. House was lovely & perfect for a group trip. The beds were all comfortable with excellent linens. We did have a few teething problems with the house (a manual would definitely help here) but Keepers Cottages did a great job communicating with us.

I booked Bowden Lodge to celebrate my 50th with all my family, I wanted somewhere that we could all be comfortable with plenty of space with enough bedrooms and bathrooms for all. Well Bowden Lodge did not disappoint what an amazing place, clean, comfortable and huge and had everything there that we could possibly need. A great secure garden too which the dogs loved. The Games room was a big hit with all the family and kept us all entertained for hours. Wed certainly be happy to visit again maybe when the weather is better so we could use the outside pool.

Had a fabulous weekend with all the family celebrating my 50th and what a perfect place to celebrate. Stunning home which catered for all our needs. Thank you.

Lovely house for a family party. Great memories made.

We had a very nice few days, and were very comfortable, this is the second time that we stayed here. We noticed this time how tired the house is looking, the pool table needs a recover, two of the showers didnt work, the heating in the games room didnt work, we couldnt use one of the toilets. When I contacted the maintenance lady, she was very good, she helped me get one of the showers working and called a plumber out to sort the heating. I was impressed with her help, but there was just two meany things wrong in the first place.

The house is absolutely magnificent, the perfect house, garden and setting for a large group/family. Can't fault it, the house is a great size, there were12 adults and a dog in our group and we had plenty of space. Everything was amazing, we had the best time. Walkable to some amazing pubs and the beach. Already booked to go back again next year.

What an amazing house - we have had a great time all being together to prepare for the most wonderful wedding... and then enjoy the calm after the storm!

We spent a week at Bowden Lodge with family and it was simply perfect! There were 9 of us and 3 dogs and so much space for us all. The property has everything you can possibly need which made for a very easy and relaxing stay. The games room is awesome and the cupboards are packed with great games, which made for very entertaining evenings. The swimming pool is delightful and despite the typical English weather with rain on some days, we definitely made the most of it, the pool area is a lovely sun trap too. The garden was perfect for the dogs, plenty of space for them to run after the ball. The house is fabulously decorated and extremely homely. The property is in a great location, we walked along the coast in both directions. The Coastguard pub in St Margaret’s Bay is a lovely find and I would definitely recommend it, great food and friendly staff. There are lots of great places to eat in Deal too, The Lane Cafe/Restaurant is definitely worth a visit. There are also two lovely pubs a short walk from the property in Kingsdown. But to be honest, we enjoyed cooking and getting takeaways so we could make the most of being in beautiful Bowden Lodge. We were all very sad to be leaving when the week came to an end and will hopefully be returning again in the future. Thank you for a wonderful week, lots of memories made and so many photos to look back on!

We stayed at Bowden Lodge for my birthday celebration and it was just perfect. There were 9 adults, 1 child and 3 dogs and it never felt like we were getting on top of each other as the house was so big. There is everything you need for a short stay and the separate dining room was a definite plus. The gardens were lovely and secure and the swimming pool a huge hit with everyone especially as the water was very warm. We spent some time at the beach which is 10 mins away and also some time in Deal which is lovely. Would definitely book this house again

Kingsdown

Bowden Lodge is situated close to the village of Kingsdown which has local shops, pubs, and a golf course. The beach lies approximately 0.3 miles away and there is good access on to the National Cycle Route one as well to the bridle paths and footpaths which lead to the Downs via quiet unadopted tracks close to the property. Deal town centre provides further facilities and the neighbouring towns of Sandwich, Dover and Canterbury are easily accessed via the A2 and A258 and together provide a comprehensive range of services. Railway stations at Deal and Walmer provide connections to Ramsgate, Sandwich, Dover and London. The High Speed service runs from Dover Priory to London St. Pancras in just over an hour. The area has good access to the continent as Dover is only approximately five miles away.

Deal is a unique place, where coast meets country, country meets the town and England meets the Continent. Whatever the time of year, it's a great spot to savour some quality time and glimpse life from a bygone era.
