Hythe

Hythe is a great place for a holiday or short break. Full of history, the Royal Military Canal, built during Napoleon times, passes through the town and offers stunning canal walks and wildlife. The town features landmarks such as Saltwood Castle, a medieval fortress with ties to Thomas Becket's murder and the Sene Valley Golf Club with scenic views and a fantastic course for golf enthusiasts. Foodies will be spoilt for choice with the many seafood restaurants. Not to be missed is a trip on the Romney Hythe & Dymchurch miniature railway, great fun for all ages, which terminates at the Dungeness Nature Reserve and lighthouses. The neighbouring coastal towns of Sandgate and Folkestone offer additional attractions. Sandgate is known for its quiet beach, historic Martello towers and cafes, while Folkestone boasts a vibrant Creative Quarter, the scenic Leas promenade, and the popular Folkestone Harbour Arm, a bustling hub of entertainment and eateries. The historic City of Canterbury is just a short drive from Hythe and offers its world famous cathedral alongside a wealth of cultural attractions, shopping and dining spots.
