The Bothy is set just outside Faversham, surrounded by the gentle countryside of North Kent where orchards, farmland and quiet lanes define the landscape.
This peaceful rural setting feels wonderfully removed, offering space, calm and a slower pace, while still being close to one of Kent’s most characterful market towns. Footpaths and country walks nearby make it easy to step straight into the landscape and enjoy the changing seasons. Faversham itself is a real highlight, known for its historic streets, independent shops and strong food scene. The town is home to Britain’s oldest brewery, Shepherd Neame, alongside a thriving collection of cafés, pubs and restaurants that reflect its creative and agricultural roots. Regular markets bring local producers into the town centre, while the nearby Oare Marshes and Swale estuary offer beautiful walking routes and excellent wildlife spotting.
For exploring further afield, the coast at Whitstable is within easy reach for seaside days, while Canterbury offers culture, shopping and dining alongside the famous and historic cathedral. Faversham railway station provides direct services to London, making The Bothy an ideal base for short countryside escapes or longer stays that balance rural tranquillity with easy access to town, coast and city.
