Reviews

Folkestone

The Courtyard is set in Folkestone, positioned just below The Bay and perfectly placed for enjoying the town’s creative energy, coastal setting and delicious food scene.

The seafront and harbour are close by, making it easy to wander down for a morning walk along the English Channel or spend time watching boats drift in and out. This part of Folkestone feels characterful and quietly tucked away, while still being firmly connected to the life of the town. The Harbour Arm is a standout attraction all year round, offering an ever-changing mix of food stalls, pop-up bars, events and sweeping coastal views. For breakfast and brunch, Marley’s is a local favourite, while Steep Street Coffee is well worth seeking out for excellent coffee in a relaxed setting. Food lovers should also make time for Cluck & Cow, that specialise in serving some of the best burgers in Kent.

Beyond the harbour, the Creative Quarter is filled with independent shops, galleries and artist studios, while Lower Leas Coastal Park provides green space and walking routes between town and sea. Folkestone West and Central stations offer high-speed rail services to London, making The Courtyard an ideal base for short breaks or longer stays combining seaside living with culture, food and easy travel connections.
