Valentine’s House is a charming holiday home in the heart of the conservation area of the pretty Georgian town of Deal. The house has a rich history and has been named after one of the first residents Valentine Myhill, who was living in the house in 1841. The son of a prestigious Cinque Ports Pilot, he unfortunately lost both his parents at a young age and went to sea at the age of 15. The full story of his life and the other residents of the house has been left for guests who enjoy history. The house is still full of character but has been transformed into a stylish and comfortable holiday home with a mid-century feel. Set over four floors with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a downstairs toilet, the star attraction of the house is the fabulous roof terrace with fantastic views across the Conservation area. Situated in a quiet side street just 2 minutes walk from the main promenade and beach, Valentine’s House is also just a few yards from the buzzing high street with its delis, boutique shops, antiques shops, cafes and restaurants. Deal Castle and the Pier are only a 5 minutes stroll along the promenade and further coastal walking takes you through Walmer and Kingsdown to the lovely Zetland Arms, one of the few UK public houses on a beach, with views of the iconic white cliffs. Walking in the other direction along the coast you will walk past some of the most prestigious links golf courses in England and almost deserted beaches.

Property Details

We would respectfully ask that the following house rules are adhered to, to avoid any damages or injury.
Dogs are not allowed on furniture and beds. Please be aware that if there is any extra cleaning or damage to furniture Keepers may withhold part of the security deposit to cover this cost in addition to the standard £25 per dog stay cleaning charge.
Please note check out is 10am. Please ensure you vacate on time to allow our housekeepers to enter the property and prepare it for the next guests.
Please be respectful to neighbours. Quiet hours are between 10pm and 9am and please vacate the outdoor terrace by 9pm.
Smoking is not permitted in the property at any time.
For insurance purposes the number of guests must not exceed the total occupancy of the house.
For fire safety reasons please do not use any candles in the property.
Should any damages arise please note charges may be taken from your security deposit.
Parties and loud music are not permitted at any time.

We loved our stay at Valentine’s House. Comfortable beds, well-stocked kitchen, and great location just off the seafront and near the high street. We especially appreciated the special effort to decorate for our Christmas stay. We made great memories with our Deal family. Would love to stay again. Parking on the seafront was convenient and available. Thank you for sharing your place with us!

A really cosy and warm house which suited us perfectly. We have loved the Easter weekend here and thought the living room was so snug. Valentine’s House is really clean and tidy. All the things we have done in Deal have been so much fun like walking along the pier, going to great pubs and the really brilliant market. Every time we go out however we look forward to coming back to this beautiful house.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our long family weekend away in Deal. We stayed with our sons and their wives, our grandson and a dog! The old town is delightful and we were very pleased to find so many shops and even banks! We had lovely walks along the front and a few drinks in the many pubs. We have enjoyed some lovely home cooked melas in the house as well so many thanks for the lovely stay.

This was our first trip to Deal and Valentine’s House and we will be coming back! The house is beautifully set up, cosy, airy, clean, welcoming – and the icing on the cake, is being so close to the beach.

Keepers Cottages were absolutely fantastic. The cottage itself offered so many different comfort zones that really the whole family could have their space if needed. My favourite place was the roof terrace. Absolutely stunning. When we stayed it was full moon. The view was breath taking. Comfort was really the word. Everything is easy to use and the locations just perfect 😃

This house is an absolute delight. Situated in the heart of the old town, it is perfectly located and as you walk through the streets you feel like you have stepped back in time. The seafront is a stone’s throw away, as are all the restaurants, bars and other amenities. The house itself is charming and beautifully appointed. It has been recently renovated to an exceptionally high standard throughout with details that make the house cosy and welcoming. It is significantly more spacious than it first appears with rooms spread over 4 floors. It's worth noting that the stairs, while adding character, might be a bit steep for some. We had a lovely weekend here and will definitely visit again.

We just came down for a long weekend but I really enjoyed Deal and the house was great. All the furniture and beds feel new and clean but there is also loads of character with the antique furniture and period house features. We will definitely come back again.

We recently spent three nights in Deal in this lovely little 3 storey fisherman's cottage. The home was very clean, nicely furnished and well equipped. There was even a rooftop patio which was really nice to enjoy the view and see the town. We had never been in Deal and found the town to be very quant with the English Channel, beach and wonderful walks a couple of streets away. Also a cosy old pub close by and many good restaurants within easy walking distance. It was a relaxing stay in a very comfortable home. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience in Deal, definitely worth the visit to this part of England.
